Googling gets me nowhere, and my sister-in-law won't call me back, so it's time to turn to the blogging world...
Maternity insurance. I'm not talking about the cover-your-butt insurance, I'm talking about the kind where if you play it right, get it just a month or two before you get pregnant, you end up paying nothing (or possibly even making a little money) off of having a baby. Has anybody ever heard of it? Because I have, multiple times, but I don't know how to look for it. All I can find is cover-your-butt insurance. And I already have that.
I don't understand why it's disappeared... I found it a year ago or so, when I was obsessed with getting pregnant and couldn't, but now I don't even know HOW to look for it. All I can think to google is "maternity insurance" and, again, that seems like a dead end. I guess I'll just keep looking, but any insight from my overwhelming multitude of readers (all four of you) would be appreciated. :)

I've never heard of it. Is your regular insurance not adequate?
I totally know what you're talking about -- my friends did it with al 3 of their kids and on two of them, even got PAID to have them! Anyway - I just emailed her to tell me what the names of the companies are and whatever. So, when she emails me, I'll email you. Except...I don't think I have your email. Leave me a comment on my blog with your address. Or you can email me: tulaneclay@gmail.com
Crap, I was thinking about this. I need to check into this within the next year. I definitely would not want to start without a maternity rider.
P.S. I miss you!
Kristina, you make me feel so special. And YAY that you're actually thinking about this too! I'm a little shocked. I'll let you know what I find out. ;)
Emilia, my regular insurance is plenty adequate, even kick-butt (SelectHealth, for those of you (coughKristinacough) who were wondering) but I'd rather get paid to have babies than pay even decent deductibles.
I have heard of companies letting you put money aside in a fund while you are on leave...but I haven't heard of this. Something to look into ;o)
